This elective was my second best option but after this class was the best choice ever . As the name would suggest something related to interiors and spaces which wasn’t my place of interest, but it is more than spaces. The saying was proved to be right after attending the lecture ,’ never judge a book by its cover’.
The class commenced with discussing about specially able people and the term’disability’. It was an eyeopener to learn about the word handicapped and its derivation of meaning. There were raised many questions like the list under disability of India, it was terrifying to know dwarfs, acid attack victims are also considered disabled. Such questions hit us with the unknown reality . Travelling and dream of travelling specific places and spots has always been on the dream list . But this session added one more ‘Tate Museum’. Not because it is a museum a general tourist spot but its uniqueness. The way its interiors are ‘PWD’ friendly . Last topic was LGBT community where is it always compulsory to reveal your sexuality. The difference between sexuality and gender. White chapel which held the biggest celebration of LGBT community. This class surely opened the unseen doors to reality and que questioning them and changing it as being the youth and future of the country.
