Due to heavy rains I couldn’t attend the session. But with the help of my classmates i accumulated information and hence i am summarizing them. The class commenced with submitting our homework from last class of submitting 10 objects .Some people having doubts so we were shown practically a cutter and scrunchy . It helped me understand the effects of depth through different rendering techniques that we have been learning since last class. The scrunchy with seems a simple round object is an easy drawing with complex rendering through cross hatching. The class seemed to have ended early due to extreme weather conditions but ended with an assignment of drawing 10 flora and fauna with complete rendering and light, dark effects.
The first artwork relates to autumn flower which helps me connect with myself. Normal hatching has been applied with the gaping in between showing the depth and veins. Second leaf is a random torn leaf which is in the process of wearing out. It was complex at start as each part required various stroke directions with the spacing of holes and veins. The third artwork was a trio of same leaf each facing in different directions. The third leaf was done by green ball pen . The interesting part was each each blade of leaf required three parts of straight hatching. The last flora had an easy drawing but while rendering it was difficult to recognize each section.Fauna which was a challenging part where drawing and rendering was too complex.Starting with the dog which had basic sketch but a arduous mouth and eyes. Both hatching and cross hatching were used. Next the lizard which was a question mark shaped drawing was a mix a stippling and curvature hatching. Mouse which was small and a fury texture which required the logic of basic rendering. Lastly , the snail which was very fascinating to do . The drawing was easy and the rendering involved hatching on the shell. The main body had stippling technique where big circles were stippled and minor circles were rendered.
