SPACE AND MATERIALITY

This class was arduous as the technical drawing had been introduced . The best three hand sketches were chosen converted to abstract and finally to perspective drawing. This part actually challenged the visualization part where we had to imagine a flat object in different angles. After this the mechanical part took us one step ahead where we had to geometrically put a 3-D format with measurements on to paper.

This illustration is a n abstract drawing of the hand shown above. The grip talks about holding something. It is portrayed through a feather and pot like the ancient times where there was no pen. The front ,left and a 3-D view is presented.

This model is the third one which was finalized . It is the preview of the hand which illustrates direction. Where a big loop points backward and the other half points the other direction. This abstract is aspired from waves and snakes.

The last illustration is gripping something with the whole hand . Where palm can also be seen . Hence, a butterfly and bat was the first thought that i could relate to . First a front and a left view is described through the visualization . Lastly , a technical drawing was made accurately with measurements.

This process questioned our creative boundaries and helped us move the engine of our brain. The next step is to covert these into trial prototypes using clay, file card, wires and cloth.
