This class commenced with discussing of the Dr. Bhau Daji Lad Museum which a part of our second project . This is where we discussed about our own city Mumbai known as Bombay before . Different cultural groups on basis of their attire and accessories . Like tikkaas that are also worn by men’s also to differentiate them from casts. Reclamation of land where earlier it was full of marshy and vegetable farm land . But now it is a metropolis city as a finance capital of the country.Mumbai post independence is the part we concentrated and discussed upon.
Next we made a list of unique and cliqued things of our own city / hometown. For me it was Mumbai.
Unique-Sea link,Fashion hub,Finance capital,Ganesh festival,Local trains ,British history,Brands and malls.
Cliched- Bollywood /Retro,beaches,night life,colleges
This part was an introspection of a forever known city.
Next we had to make a list of our best vacation place or a city that we wish to visit again . For me it was Switzerland.

Personal- Mountain,Weather/nature,cable car ,ice cream ,shopping
Then we had to write 150 words on the same.
My favorite and memorable vacation in Switzerland. A city that has been a romance spot for Indians since DDLJs . Till date mountains and areas in Switzerland has ‘DDLJ’ posters. The movie has set a stigma for the country which is still stuck in Switzerland.Next thing are the black and white patch cows. It is the original cows that we studied as a child was a thing we dream to see in reality . But it was hardly seen in fields. Top of Europe ‘Jungrafau’. It is known as the highest peak of Europe , but is actually not. It is actually a promotional strategy that made people and tourists obsessed.But it is too tedious to reach up there and it is really not as expected.Though the infrastructure is amazing . Lastly , snowfall is something which Switzerland is wondered for. But actually during normal times of the year it is difficult to experience. Overall it is hygienic environmental and rejuvenating.
Next was our assignment to read a chapter of the city series and to write a review.

This chapter is about drama.It’s mainly revolving around two people Raghav (an author) and Leela a beautiful struggling actress. This story is from third person point of view who is Raghav’s close friend. It taks about a small city Patna with huge impacting stories. Raghav who fell in love with Leela and married her but things took an unexpected turn in life where they get seperated from a 20 year marriage and start revolting through articles and poems. Where Leela starts accusing Raghav of abuse and violence. Where Raghav writes about his indeliable love and is still waiting for her . This chapter is full of series of events in different timelines where who is a liar is a big question. Finally the chapter ended with an impactful inspirational line ,”The number of days she spent with me are more days than have passed since she left .” It impacts and focuses on love of motherland or on the city we were born on from the author’s point of view.
