Today’s class started with reviewing our final project. It was not only review by our teacher but also a peer review which gave us diverse perspective and feedback. My final installation was too scattered and didn’t have a particular shape . But surely it had a definite story .
My story and model starts from the metaphor ,’I am a touch me not plant ‘. This indicates the start which is revealed to everyone either being rude or and introvert and not opening up to new people. My model described the feeling of rude on the outside and soft on the inside. So my flow starts why am i such a person is the following reasons for the same . First i am a mathematical problem being too complicated .Next i am also an autumn leaf that is moody and sad at most of the times .Beneath i had a wardrobe type opening as in revealing the the uniqueness of broken parts where it is remembered in the history like an important part.Next was a see-saw which i used to show a balance between two metaphors of focus and hard work . Beneath that was a slanting sheet was file card showing extreme pressure built by workload . Through strips of file card i showcased confusion and irritation . But motivates me in such situation is I am a shining star in the dark night. Without struggle and stress no one can shine in life. Next was my tallest model of believe. It was something that is the base for anything and everything. Next was my surprise quality of reveal where i considered myself as a happy meal . I installed this metaphor on a file card and yarn ball. Lastly, my revelation behind the curtains trait of being unique like stiletto . It was balanced on various strips connected as a base for this final quality. This was a long and intricate project that gave us an introspective view of who are we.
Next we had to review two movies as our assignment . First movie was
Dhobhi Ghat .
This movie revolves around 4 individuals who are completely different from each other. A confused artist , an investment banker for a project in India , a’ Dhobhi’ who is struggling between his reality and dreams lastly a women who makes unfortunate decisions due to a failed marriage. The story sequence wasn’t place together. The ending was blunt which had no meaning according to the story it was revolving around.The name itself wasn’t suiting the story . But the confused artist’s work was very inspirational.
A little princess( this is the wrong movie which was seen due to confusion in the name)
This movie was an amazing mixture of different cultures and Hindu Mythology .This movie described the true essence of belief . Where the power of “Ramayan” ca be a light of hope in the dark cave . How a child’s small belief can motivate each individual seeing the movie. The cinematography and acting was fantastic.The movie was a mixture of animation and vintage what seemed unique and surprising fact was Britishers respecting Indian culture. Lastly, the way a little girl without parents who finds happiness in worst situation and with throwing reality and anger stones, she doesn’t let her palace of belief break.
The Little prince
This movie is more for adults making them understand life. Where each one enters such a stressful schedule they forget to be children again. It talks about belief instincts and hopes.The part of understanding peace and satisfaction of small things in life.It talks about living is present and not in future. It also talks about value of relationships that cannot be bought from any shop but be created and valued for in life. It also talks about death an inevitable fact where the shell is left and the soul is always alive .A relationship between a 9 year old and an old man where he creates stories which changes the little girl’s perception of life.Therefore this movie was a little too much stretched was an inspirational movie.The best quote “It is only with the heart that one can see rightly; what is essential is invisible to the eye.”
