DRAWING

Today’s class was about colors. The most awaited topic. It seemed like a transformation from black and white boring life to a colorful class full of emotions. Where each color had its negatives and positives which gave us an impact . Where we could directly relate it to films , Disney, animation etc. It was surprising to understand that even yellow a bright happy color could have its negative. Like depression, anxiety etc. With each color came many surprises to understand. It not only gave knowledge but helped us actually connect to the career we would like to pursue. Like for me fashion , the colors created a mood board in my mind.It taught us a better way to express our emotions in a creative manner through the magic of colors.

This was a exercise where it was a trial and error method to understand colors and individual comfort with each of them.It is similar to doodling before sketching or drawing. In the above image too many colors and textures have been used. Showing the attribute of messy. But in between are objects in black which withstands the quality of ‘imperfection’.A pair of wings showcasing freedom to fly higher in life. Next a symbol of confidence. Lastly, a dream catcher being symbolic of reaching our dreams passing all obstacles. A simple experiment which is visually not so appealing but holds a deeper meaning.
This was our first assignment where we had to choose a picture and create swatches. The challenging part was creating the exact colors and maintaining its vibrancy. The picture above is of Ijen a volcanic area in Indonesia. The above image seems like a part of animated movie hence i chose it .After completing this we had a peer review session which helped us improve better .

We even reviewed our classmates work and got inspiration and learning . Understanding a color could be mixed and formed to the right one but the temperature is what mattered. Squinting our eyes and concentrating on the important ones gave us an idea . Therefore, lessons from this class through review and various trials could help us improvise in our next swatch assignment.
