Today’s class was the basics of character building . It started with showcasing emotions and understanding it practically by observing people.By understanding the movement of eyebrows and eyes how one could express happiness or sadness.Similar way we had to exaggerate a particular emotion of the person sitting next to us.Then we had to give emotion to any object or a thing around us . Therefore , i chose my fingers and nails of one hand.

So this hand showcases various emotions from happiness to irritation. This hand seemed like a family to me with different shapes and sizes each having different emotions. Each standing and diverse in its own way.Mainly the eyebrows and the lips were the main components of communication.
Next we had to choose any fauna as our character of our story . This was the first step of our Zine project . Where we required our main actor and a emotion to create our story board. Through various trial and error of understanding animals in a cartoon comic style we came down to one final .

Therefore i chose snail as my character and remorse, worry as a emotion. In this black pen ball and ink pen as the main medium through various rendering techniques we communicated the idea. Scribbling gave the ultimate texture and stippling also managed .

In this the main medium was brush pen . In this colors were used to give the essence.Similarly different shading ways were used with various color combination to explore various ways.

In this the traditional medium pencil was used . Different size leads were tried. This used mainly line weights and textures .Using combined rendering techniques of scribbling and stippling gave more depth .

This is mainly done through watercolor pencils. This gave much more flow to the snails.Different rendering and shading ways were used.

This was a mixture of mediums mainly black and white.Pens and pencils were the main forms.Same techniques with different combinations were used .

This is the final trial where brush pens and water color pencils were used to obtain an output .
Therefore, this part of the process helped us to range over and explore various mediums, colors and shading techniques.
