This was a make up class for the class cancelled . In this class we had to present our photographs based on our narrative and thumbnails. We had to specifically capture the picture through DSLR camera . The main object was to capture essence at the same time use abstraction and various ways to capture it . I very didn’t use abstraction but was excited with my progress. A person clicked blur photos from a phone camera learnt to use a DSLR and also clicked good pictures .
This the first photo of my narrative . It describes a miserable and confused girl . For the picture i used yellow gelatin paper on mirror as a effect of sadness . As color yellow is also a symbolic of depression.The makeup done is complete black makeup with dark lip and exaggereted tears emphasizing darkness. With the help of glitter the tear is given a realistic effect.
This part where the person goes back in time through wandering between albums.Where brown vintage clock and brown cowboy boots have been used to give that old effect . The camera was turned to warmth yellow tone which gave an ancient effect . This part inspired me from French vintage movies.
This part where the person time travels through this picture of herself smiling , laughing in the moment. I used dry flowers and fresh leaf to match the theme of joy .
This part where through time travel the person reaches to the first time she attempted crawling.The joy on the face and ray of light was the true happiness.
The nest part where through the process the child gets hurt . Falls in the journey of learning . The same place has been used where the journey beginned.
The next part which speaks about the child who cries . Which to me is also a part of the way where it is okay to cry. This is the part where the person is in the story .
This part potrays how this child stands up and starts walking. Passing through the storms from scars and failure she stands up and walks bravely. Therefore, we chose the place windy abstracting storm .
The last picture depicting that you should leave your footprints and there are miles to go . This is not the final chapter . Therefore this whole story inspires the elder self to learn and keep moving in life . Leaving her marks and never stopping because failure and scars are part of the journey.
This story taught many things . The project itself gave deeper learnings of both skills and time.
