Today’s class was about moving one step forward with introspection from feedbacks in the last class . This class is where we has to tweak our ideas . This is where we had to relate more and narrow our layouts according to the seminar drem cities . This class where i also created my front page on illustrator . This class where we started finalizing layouts and creating front and back pages of the book . First i summarized my ideas from each chapter and started combining them . There were 2 to 3 ideas combined the best possible way where i could actually communicate my ideas. The following were my iterations :
I picked the following idea which had a reference from my studio work . Where i had unicorns rainbows as my concept . The shape of unicorn hair is also an abstraction of fire which had been used in my story .
This was my first attempt where i used linear gradient as a form of rainbow . The first step to creation of this was scaning the sketch and tracing it through pen and curvature tool .Next was filling colors and adding stroke .
This was the final draft draft where i added the horn of unicorn , this is where i explored the freeform gradient where i could add colors exactly in the sequence of a vibgyor to add more effect .
Then the next step was saving it and exporting it to indesign as per my layout . Where i saved it normally and then directly placed it in the in design using place option under file tab.
This is the next part where i named my book . Among my cities is a suspenseful city based on a mirror in the last chapter . Hence i wanted to give a miror reflecting effect . This was most challenging where i took some inputs from my classmates and even knowledge from internet .
Where first i wrote flipped city in white twice . Then i roted and flipped text from the option . It was now exactly opposite to each other like a reflection . But to give the essence i used fradient black and light one with feather effect . To get that accurate effect i created angles .
Today’s class was an optimum understanding of in design where i got to explore the tect tool the most . Trying out various options to get the mirror effect . The work and logo which was highly inspired from studio work helped me get the right essence . The stories from seminar created that suspense emotion in my whole artwork . Overall this class was challenging but a lot to learn from and apply.
