Today was the presentation of our project . This is where we had moved one step forward. We had gone for our first site visit . Our topic being clean water and sanitation where we narrowed it down to sanitation issues to disabled and senior citizens in slum .
Therefore we visited a slum called siddharth nagar and podar hospital . The slum we visited had clean functioning washrooms but no special facility for the disabled . Then the public hospital also had residents from slum . Therefore we interviewed four people regarding their issues faced . Mainly our survey concluded to the need of having western washrooms . Washrooms being near by so it is easily accessible .
Where we first created a questionnaire on basic points which we could ask in oder to conduct our survey .
These were our findings about four people . Where people’s diability was noted . How they needed support according to various kinds of disability .
Overall this project needed ammendents based on the research where we had to come down to one objective . Where we should have done a detailed washroom study as per disabled . Starting from the lanes , doorways and its accessibility . Narrowing our research to a particular diability and a certain age group in oder to have a detailed project .
Overall the project till here taught so many things from moving out of our comfort zone visiting a slum understanding the way to communicate facing barriers in terms of language . We even created a small teaser to give an insight into our research .
