Today’s class was about understanding the coffe tabe book . It took us from the art of binding to step by step sequence of a book.It was very interesting to look at thise thick books known as coffee table books from a very different perspective .Understanding that cover which gets lost or always falls is called the jacket of the book . The cover which had so much symbolism etc .
Then we understood spacing how a cover and jacket could be same . How similarities between them also could be matched .Then the next step was the layout starting from index to reference page glossary etc . It was very interesting to know the intricate meaning of a huge book from content on folded page to the overall book . Then we also discussed color theory and its connection with shapes . It was very suprising to know the facts and we actually connected with it, . It helped increasing our design basics . How color yellow is always connected with circle due to the nature . From sun to lemon .
Later we had to connect our content and ideas from objects as history to our coffee table book . Where after realising the freedom of creativity actually it seemed so many ideas flowing at a go . So i had a idea of using mdf as my cover and using actuall coth as a jacket following my theme of european style .
