INTEGRATIVE STUDIO

Today’s class was about forming aspects about the public place decided. The place our group chose was CSMT station . where we had to visit thrice morning,afternoon and evening.On this day we covered the morning and afternoon aspect.We even had a pre- researched about the place. Where we understood it was the first station ever built in Mumbai .It was first known as Victoria station and then’ Bora bandar’ and finally ‘Chattrapati shivaji terminus station.’

We visited the station once on working day therefore it was crowded . But it was also a well developed station as compared to other stations of Bombay. What fascinated and made us more curious to visit the station was the 26/11 attacks . Where a bullet in the glass was still present . But when we visited the station the restaurant which had the bullet was renovated.The station had three parts one local station , second the outstation and lastly the museum which is known for its floating staircase.Even the architecture had minute details which was very creatively thought.

The top floor has as arc from quran portraying Islamic culture. In middle is the pee pal tree structure which describes Buddhism and Hindu culture. Lastly the bottom most is a symbol of Gothic the western culture.

Overall the site visit was helpful in part of observing. Visiting it different times , different days with diversity of people and culture etc gave us some historical knowledge and teamwork.
